Parent's Club: FAQ

MEMBERSHIP

There are two components of club membership: dues & volunteer hours.  Being a member of the Club entitles you to reduced fees for pictures, the banquet, and other club sponsored activities.  Your participation and dues help us to give our cheerleaders what really matters! We'd like to give our girls the most fun, memorable experience possible.  We welcome your input (constructive only, please) and ideas, and we encourage your participation.

Membership forms and dues will be collected at the apparel fitting or can be mailed to our membership coordinator.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES/NEEDS

Please reach out to the Club coordinators or check off on the membership form if you are interested in the following volunteer opportunities:

  • Kick Off BBQ - help with planning the event, purchasing food, drinks, and paper products

  • Team Picture Day - work with the photographer to pick a date, collect money, and distribute pictures

  • Megaphones - order supplies and decorate megaphones for new cheerleaders and seniors (returning sophomores and junior megaphones are all set)

  • Concessions - coordinate food/beverage donations and manage volunteer shifts.  In the past, Cheer has had the Highlander concession stand at the first home game. This is a major fundraiser. Parents are required to volunteer for one shift, or quarter of the game.

  • Game Day Sandwiches - create an order form, take orders, submit orders to Piggy's, coordinate pick-up of sandwiches, and return cooler to Piggy's weekly

  • Senior Night - purchase food and drinks for celebration, and set up the family gathering held at the school prior to the football game. Also in charge of purchasing "gift" items for the seniors

  • Banquet Committee - Two to three volunteers to plan banquet (previously held at Black Oak in December). Plan coaches and senior gifts

  • By-Laws Committee - Two to three people to review/ update by-laws for voting

  • Class Communicator/Organizer - Attend meetings (we don't have that many!) and communicate to your cheerleader's grade level all club happenings. This is a new and developing position. Our main goal is to be sure all grade levels are well informed and can participate in all activities.
